Are you curious about mindfulness but unsure how to start? Or have you been practicing on your own but would like some support to take it further? Do you want to deal with what life brings your way in a way that’s better for you, and those around you? Then this beginners mindfulness course is perfect for you.
Over the course of 4 weeks you’ll learn the skills and techniques required to begin a lifetime practice, that will optimise your mental peace and physical wellbeing. Through mindfulness we can reduce stress and increase happiness, develop new ways to approach the challenges of life and learn that we are able to respond, rather than react.
We’ll look at:-
- The basics of mindfulness – what is it, and where does it come from
- How to use the body and the breath to help us
- Exploring bringing more kindness and compassion into our lives
- The many practical ways in which we can integrate mindfulness as part of our lives, with a particular emphasis on the workplace
You don’t need any previous experience of mindfulness, and you definitely don’t need a meditation cushion!
Please do come and join us. Everyone is most welcome.
The 4 week course starts on Thursday 5th July, 7-8.30pm
Price £50 (£45 early bird till 21st June)
The course is delivered by our mindfulness expert Susan Whitehead.
Having worked for 30+ years as a Civil Servant, I got the chance for a change of career, and follow my dream to teach mindfulness. Issues relating to stress and anxiety lead me to look for alternatives to conventional treatments, so I started to practice Tai Chi and meditation – it felt just like coming home. The step from meditation to mindfulness was a small and natural one for me. Mindfulness is not just a practice, but a way of life which allows me to relate to the world in a wholly new way. My life has not become trouble-free, but my mindfulness training in allows me to meet the challenges of life in a more balanced, resilient way. I live in Pendle, with my husband. We enjoy walking and cycling in the beautiful countryside around us.
