You’ll find me at WAW teaching the L2 Ashtanga 90 minute class every Monday evening as well as the monthly Yin Yoga workshops on the last Friday of each month.
I love the routine that Ashtanga brings. How our experiences in each practise will be different but encourages us to listen to our bodies, without attachment. The dynamic set sequence becomes a moving meditation as we focus on the deep breath and rhythm of the practise.
Yin yoga is the polar opposite and a perfect compliment both physically and mentally to dynamic classes. It’s challenging as we hold postures for longer and focus on a soft relaxed breath, allowing our busy thoughts to pass by. I love the relaxed and calming feeling that yin yoga creates.
My motto is ‘All About Balance’. The yang vs the yin; being strong yet soft, energetic & relaxed, the balance between doing & being, controlling yet allowing. It’s like the contrast between summer & winter, day & night, work & play. Life is a constant balance between the two. One doesn’t work without the other and we need a little of both!
