Amera has been practising yoga since 2010, stumbling on Ashtanga as her first class. She soon became hooked on this dynamic practice (reminding her of her younger gymnastic days!) and the benefits it had on her body and mind. She believes that yoga is the perfect balance to dealing with the stresses of modern life.
After suffering with some ‘exercise related’ injuries, Amera feels it’s important to move the body in many different ways and enjoys mixing in restorative Yin and playful Rocket to her regular Ashtanga practice.
Amera completed her 200hr teacher-training course on a 4 week intensive in Bali in 2016. She has since completed many yoga immersions and further trainings in the styles of Yin and Rocket yoga.
Amera’s classes are calming, honest and informal. She believes yoga should be accessible to everyone, whether they are there for a spiritual practice or simply a means to move their bodies. She offers modifications for all levels often drawing on her own experiences from her practice. Amera may teach in a soft, calming manner but don’t underestimate that she’ll also make you work hard in your yoga class. You will leave feeling relaxed after a lovely neck and shoulder massage to finish the class.
My favourite snack is… almond butter! Especially stuffed in big juicy medjool dates. Sounds gross? But I can assure you it tastes like sticky toffee pudding. Yum!
You wouldn’t know that… I’m half Egyptian.
