Currently based in Leeds, Charlotte is a freelance yoga teacher and dance artist. Having graduated from The Northern School Of Contemporary Dance in July 2017, Charlotte has continued to expand her knowledge and passion for movement: through movement based research, Personal Yoga practice, and teaching a variety of movement based classes for bodies of all ages and abilities.
Yoga has always been a fundamental aspect of Charlotte’s practice, but particularly found a place during times of injury when in professional dance training. Coming from a place where movement was minimal, Charlotte turned to her breath and delved into the exploration of such work. From this came the interest of benefit of meditation and mindfulness, which continued to stick by Charlotte as range of movement and mobility increased.
Having been fully immersed in all that daily Yoga practice can offer, Charlotte took her understanding to a deeper level and completed her 200 hours Ashtanga Teacher training in Bali, 2016. With this came the opportunity to share such practices to other movers, and has since completed her Children’s yoga teacher training.
Charlotte’s principles in classes remain centered around the importance of connecting to the self, discovering how to move from within and allowing the breath to move you forwards. Classes dedicate time and space towards such practice- with ideas that yoga, and all movement in a broader context, is available to benefit all bodies.
My movement style… stems from authenticity. Giving and taking whatever is needed.
