Clare went to her first Yoga class in her teens, quite simply it made her feel happier and more connected and its been a constant companion in her life since then, putting things into perspective, making her body stronger and thoughts less reactive.
In 2013 after years of thinking about it she decided to go for it and study to become a yoga teacher! Studying an intensive 18 month course with Yogacampus – Who she now also mentors new teacher trainees on their courses. Clare teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra workshops and 1-1 yoga sessions. She teaches retreats in the UK, Europe and India.
Clare’s classes will focus on what you can do rather than what you can’t. We’ll explore our connection to the breath, which is key throughout her classes, connecting and deepening into the physical practice of yoga to warm, strengthen & muscles, helping to quieten the busy mind, get connected and encourage greater peace. Clare will often weave in mindful philosophy, meditation and pranayama (breathing practices) within the practice.
My favourite place in Yorkshire is…. Malham! I used to sell ice creams there over the Summer holidays when I was 16 years old. I loved it: reading, eating ice-cream and serving the odd customer. I go back to the fresh, beautiful Dales walking or camping when I can and Malham is my go to place.
My biggest release is… Watching scary films – aaaaaaaah! Nothing too gory but I do love a good edge of your seat thriller.
