Lenna is a certified level 3 mat Pilates instructor and a Barre Pilates Method instructor. She is also a bellydancer with Orientale Dance Company. Her background is in psychology and specifically working with adolescents with acute mental health difficulties. This has informed her work as a Pilates teacher and she believes that mindful exercise like Pilates, which fosters a brain-body connection to improve movement as well as a sense of wellbeing in the body, is a valuable tool for everyday health. Lenna encourages people to come to Pilates for both the mental and physical benefits. She firmly believes that good posture which can be achieve through Pilates has a significant positive impact on mental wellbeing. Pilates encourages efficient movement, core stability, strengthening of stabilising muscles of the joints and stretching to improve flexibility and is therefore valuable to most people. In the words of Joseph Pilates ‘in 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body’.
