When the pace of life is fast, our minds can move fast and the nervous system can end up taking a beating, thats why we need to keep taking restorative top ups, to restore our vital energy.
We’ll begin with a gentle Hatha yoga practice designed to wake up, open and refresh the body and mind.. Beginning to let go of any tension and relax into a day of nourishment and rest.
Restorative yoga is then a big part of the day. This being the most chilled out member of the yoga family. It allows the body to enter a state of relaxation and complete release. No holding or stretching or striving, just a sense of deep release because when we’re relaxed, the parasympathetic nervous system switches on and begins the job of healing and restoring the body. In this rest-and-digest mode, the heart and respiration rates slow, busy thoughts subside, and a wonderful pause descends over body and mind.
Massages happen with some of We are Wellness’s wonderful therapists alongside the Restorative yoga session and then there’s a delicious freshly prepared vegetarian lunch.
The final session of the day is utterly delicious and all about Yoga Nidra – One of the deepest forms of relaxation, a state of awareness in which the body can rest deeply and profoundly, whilst the mind is between wakefulness and deep rest.
Improving sleep, enhancing creativity, it refreshes the mind – leaving you feeling clearer and more settled, releases tension and brings in nourishment, insight and healing.
