Why choose coaching?
As a friend said to me, “We all need a coach and those who say they don’t are either lying or are very lucky.” Investing in the process of being coached, with the right person for you, can be life changing.
People work with coaches for all sorts of reasons. These are some reasons why people enter into a coaching relationship:
It is important to note that coaching, whilst often reported as feeling therapeutic, is not a therapy. It can be hugely powerful for processing emotion without going into the story or details but cannot take the place of therapy. Open conversation between coach and client is the best way to identify it coaching is what is right for a particular individual right now, at this point in life.
Finding a coach who is right for you…
Most coaches offer free sample/chemistry sessions which usually include space to talk about what you want from coaching, how the coach works and try out some coaching together. It is worth looking into and connecting with a few coaches so that you are able to make a more informed choice about who would be the best fit for you. It is important to clarify what they offer and to establish for yourself what you need and want from a coach. Remember to listen to your heart and gut!
