Do you ever feel like just taking a break and letting out a big sigh? Go on, try it now – how fantastic does that feel?
Do you ever long for time to relish the things that really matter – the smile of a little person, a breeze on your cheek, a beautiful sunset?
How can we begin to let go just a little, and soften our grip on life?
This is where mindfulness comes in.
Why does this matter?
Mindfulness is about waking up. In a way, it’s like coming home.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to realise what’s happening in our lives right now. The reason we don’t all do this all of the time is that we’re distracted – by outside factors, and by internal ones, such as our thoughts and emotions.
By beginning to increase our awareness of how things really are, we can start to drop worry about the future, and regret about the past, which often occupies our mind.
How I discovered mindfulness
After time off with work-related stress, I began to look at different ways to support myself.
Mindfulness was perfect for me.
I became less anxious, and adopted a whole new attitude to work.
Once I stopped trying so hard, I was able to enjoy my life more.
Having experienced the benefits of mindfulness for myself, I decided to train, and am now a qualified mindfulness teacher.
If you’d like to experience mindfulness, or would simply like to know more, I’d love you to join us at the beginner’s mindfulness course at We Are Wellness in Leeds when we can explore mindfulness together. The 4 week course starts on Thursday 5th July, 7-8.30pm.
You don’t need any previous experience, so why not join us – you never know what you might discover!
