Doing/not doing – working/relaxing – yin/yang – important to find the balance to feel whole and be healthy.
Yin represents the moon, night, darkness, rest, coolness and Yang the sun, day, light, activity and warmth. One can not exist without the other and with this in mind I have designed a special class for you this Friday evening.
You will be doing a set of yoga postures holding each pose for a longer period of time 3-5min. When you stay in poses for longer and work with deep rhythmic breath it allows the connective tissue in the body to stretch and relax.
Connective tissue, ligaments, tendons are “tougher tissue” that need longer time to react to a stretch. The connective tissue is in the whole body also in the organs. And when you stimulate the connective tissue in one part of the body it has an effect in other parts of the body – as all the tissue is connected like a big web.
To add a drop of Yang you will make smooth and flowing transitions between the postures. This will stimulate the flow of energy in the body to avoid feeling lethargic.
The breath is very important in this type of practice. Breathing deeply, slowly and in an even supplies the body with lots of oxygen (and energy) and allows the connective tissue to relax, it reduces the amount of stress hormons in the body and you will leave feeling calm, balanced yet energised.
I will add music and other “treats” for a full experience.
Looking forward seeing you all.
